I got the iBike computer. It's so unbelievably cool. Just needs some final calibration and I am ready to go and geek out big time.
Had a tasty coffee and bagel this a.m., then finished up some last minute personal details before heading over to Troutdale to check in. They ended up giving me the current tour jersey as one woman traded hers in for a different size. I was the last person to sign up so they didn't have any available for me. It was pretty cool when they handed me one. We also got nametags and name plates, and a t-shirt, and a laundry line with clothespins.
We went to Edgefield for dinner and I had the chance to start to get to know my fellow riders. This is looking to be a really good group of people and I feel I'm going to make some really good friends. I was trying to talk people into riding up to Timberline Lodge tomorrow so it looks like that is now a viable option. We'll see once we get there how everyone feels after the climb to Government Camp. It will add on an extra 2000' climbing for the day, but the Lodge is pretty darn cool and worth seeing. Plus we can always get a drink and something to eat there. I'm not sure what Lon will think as he was totally emphasizing how we need to go easier the first 5 days, and this is probably not what he means by taking it "easy".
