Bike Tour Day 2 Pendleton

Oh my god I rode my fastest century ever. I mean ever. I'll probably never ride a faster one in my life. We rode on I-84 for 100 miles and we clocked 4 hours. Woohoo!! I was pretty worried about having to ride on the interstate for so long but with the 30mph tailwind it was awesome. I did get one flat 20 miles in, and another one just as we arrived at the hotel. I'll be changing out my tire tonight to hopefully avoid any other flats.

The most beautful part of the ride was after I-84 when we got off on an old road that followed the railroad tracks through this small canyon with amazing rock walls and many twists and turns that always brought a new view into sight. We took it easier along this section as well and got to actually talk with each other.

Once we arrived in Pendleton we stopped at a cafe downtown and had cold drinks before heading to the hotel. Thanks again Doug for knowing the town and telling us there was nothing up at the hotel and no reason to rush to get there. The cafe was way better. For dinner they shuttled us to the Indian casino and we ate at the buffet. It was actually pretty good and I brought some extra dessert home....as if I need more sweets on this trip!
